Your Career path

Always about the Goal

What does career success mean to you? It’s a question most everyone thinks about at one point or another.

For many, success means advancing your career by going down the leadership path… where you’re responsible for managing and motivating a team to achieve business objectives.

Many others in business are content to contribute to the team but not lead it, potentially staying in a technical or tradesman’s role for many reasons (e.g., wanting to stay hands-on with the tech or not wanting to deal with people and their problems).

Aside from personal preferences, money is also a big factor. Managers and leader roles are typically rewarded handsomely. Taking on the role of manager or leader should not be taken lightly, and not about the money, as the wrong motivation creates a Boss and not a leader or manager.

Great Leaders do not set out to be a leader , rather they set out to make a difference. It should never be about the Role, but always about the GOAL. Can you make the difference?

In the Choose Your Own Adventure book of life, which path would you take, or do you plan to take? Do you prefer to manage people (potentially earning much more) or would you rather contribute to the team without taking the responsibility of being in charge?
