Our mission is to create a supportive, livable, and sustainable environments where the displaced can heal, grow, and reconnect with society and their sense of purpose. Our approach emphasizes community bond, clean living, mind healing, with sustainable practices, all tailored to the unique needs of those who have served and worked in South Africa.
Role Description:
We are seeking passionate volunteers across all provinces to help us expand our mission. As a Volunteer Community Builder, you will engage in various activities including but not limited to the following:
Additional Opportunities:

- Landscaping: Help design, plant, and maintain beautiful, functional landscapes that enhance our community spaces.
- Construction: Participate in building or renovating housing units, ensuring they meet the high standards of livability and comfort for the displaced. Coach and mentor pupils in the fields above to become proficient to expand our services.
- Handymen Services: Offer your skills for minor repairs, maintenance, and home improvement projects around the community and teaching others to do the same.
- Health and Wellness: Assist or lead in organizing fitness activities, health education sessions, and support groups focused on physical and mental well-being. Assist with seniors where necessary.
- Common Grooming Services: Provide or coordinate haircuts, personal hygiene workshops, or other grooming services to boost confidence and self-care among the displaced.
- Facility Upkeep: Ensure our facilities remain in top condition through regular cleaning, maintenance, and enhancement projects.
- Program Support:
- Job Training: Help with resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies.
- Life Skills Workshops: Teach or facilitate sessions on financial literacy, cooking, or other life skills.
- IT Training: Provide basic and advanced computer literacy training, preparing learners for their position within the new digital age.
- Mind Healing: Support mental health initiatives, either by leading peer support groups, coordinating with mental health professionals, or participating in therapeutic activities.
- Gardening and Farming: Engage in or lead our urban farming projects, teaching or learning alongside displaced about sustainable agriculture.
- Financial Services: Teaching and or supporting community leaders handle their community budgets and financial commitments, thereby reducing the rate of community failure.
- Outreach: Promote QUDIT within local communities, engage with potential partners, thereby attracting more partners and volunteers to our programs.
- Art or Music Therapy: If you have skills in these areas, contribute to our therapeutic programs.
- Homeless Advocacy: Help navigate the homeless through benefit systems or advocate for their needs within their community.
- Transportation: Assist with driving the displaced, aged or seniors to appointments, community events, or shopping.

Qualifications:

- Specific skills in the areas listed are a plus, but training will be provided where needed and an incentive may be applied to qualified full time positions.
Commitment:
- Ability to work weekends or evenings for community events is advantageous.
- Flexible hours, with opportunities for both short-term and long-term commitments.
