The following 10 things to teach our children or even the adults in the room is something that costs absolutely nothing and requires zero talent, yes I said it, this piece of advice is totally free and should be a part of our every day life.
- Being on time: Timing is everything for work and any appointment that you have to attend. Punctuality demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and respect for others’ time. Being on time helps build trust with employers and colleagues, fostering a reliable and cohesive work environment
- Work ethic: A strong work ethic will result in the production of high-quality work which is consistent. It is considered by fans as a source of self-respect, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Work ethic is a belief that work and diligence have a moral benefit and an inherent ability, virtue or value to strengthen character and individual abilities.
- Effort: The exertion of physical or mental power to achieve a goal or complete a task. It can be described as the amount of time or energy spent on a particular activity, including work on a sponsored project where salary is directly charged or contributed.
- Body language: This type of nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors, as opposed to words, are used to express or convey information. Such behavior includes facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space.
- Energy: The ability to be able to maintain productivity, demonstrate commitment, and contribute positively to the work environment. Energy at work is essential because it shows that an individual is serious about their job and capable of getting more done.
- Attitude: Significantly impacts their performance, relationships, and overall contribution to the workplace. Employers often prioritize attitude over technical skills, as a positive and professional attitude can create a productive, collaborative, and innovative work environment.
- Passion: Generally leads to higher pay, organizational status, and greater fulfillment in their jobs. Passion for work can also increase focus, reduce fear of failure, and enhance creativity and innovation.
- Being Coachable: Coachability reflects a willingness to learn and improve, which leads to increased productivity and efficiency. Being coachable allows employees to recognize flaws in their performance and make necessary changes for the betterment of themselves, those around them, and the organization.
- Going beyond: Expectations are set by employers, who often look for employees to fill in certain gaps and take on additional tasks when needed. Going above and beyond can lead to personal and professional growth. It allows employees to develop new skills, gain exposure to different areas of the business, and build valuable networks within the organization, this again can lead to better positions in the organization.
- Being prepared: Preparation ensures they can perform their tasks effectively and efficiently. Being prepared involves having the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience (KSAE) to do one’s job well
